NEW Features for 2009...! New features are continuously being added to our Justice systems. Click HERE to see what's new for 2009, and other system feature videos used for new user training and product evaluation. These videos cover all the Central Data & Incident handling features, Master Name, Searching capabilities, Computer dispatching, Inmate Booking, Jail/Commissary management, and Civil Paper processing. CMI welcomes three new KANSAS state Users...! Edwardsville PD, Rose Hill PD, and Beloit PD are the first three Justice users in Kansas. CMI is putting the finishing touches on a Kansas Incident Based Reporting (KIBR) system that allows users in Kansas to automate their state reporting requirements. Justice, and Justice-Lite mobiles, interface seamlessly with DMV, NCIC, NLETS, ASTRA, live-scan fingerprinting and many other systems. CMI now has users in nine different states, including Alaska, and we are looking forward to adding the state of New Mexico in the near future.. Electronic Ticketing! CMI has joined with APS to create an Electronic Ticket application that populates Justice Ticket & Master Name screens with the data returned from Justice Lite mobile, and/or the information provided from a driver's license. Officers select the applicable violation from a drop-down menu on the computer screen - and the appropriate statute number, fine amount, and court information is automatically entered on the ticket. The data is also transferred without user action to Court software when it's available. Currently available to Oregon and Washington Justice users, other states will follow. Barcode Scanner Interface! It is now possible to utilize a variety of barcode scanners to inventory Justice Property items that have a barcode tag entered into one of the Property fields (usually Tag#). The capability includes 1) Comparing items in Evidence lockers that are not included in Justice Property system 2) Finding items in Justice Property data that are missing from Property Room 3) Automatically updating Property Disposition for items annually scanned for destruction 4) Completing Property inventories. It's user friendly, and can save a lot of time! Justice goes County wide! Custom Micro's RMS system was chosen to link all law enforcement agencies in Coos County, Oregon into a centralized regional system. The Coos County Sheriff's Office, including their Jail facility, are now linked to five City Police Departments, and three regional Emergency Dispatch Centers with one common Justice Records Management System. They all share one common Master Name file among others, yet maintain their individual identity and control over Incident related information. Full featured security allows each agency to control access to their data, and maintain their own reports. The system manager, Sgt. Pat Downing (541-404-5387), stated after the third installation day, that "everything has gone so smoothly that he could hardly believe it." For more information contact him directly, or call us and let us explain how we can do the same for you. Thin Client Mobile Data Terminal Solutions -- CMI's Justice Lite program has been tested and found to be MS Terminal Services 2003 compatible. A lot of exciting things are happening with CMI's Justice RMS and Thin Client Mobile Data Terminal Solutions. Users can now go mobile with their department's Justice RMS and use it from "anywhere". Think of the possibilities. All that's needed is a standard web browser and Microsoft Terminal Services 2003. This is an exciting and affordable technology that's now available to our users. User's Earn FREE Annual Licensing & Maintenance CMI doesn't do any real marketing, because Justice pretty well sells itself. As an incentive for current user's to tell others about Justice, CMI offers FREE annual licensing and maintenance to current users who tell other departments about their Justice system. Here are two ways current users benefit by letting other departments know about CMI: 1) If a current user hosts an on-site demo of their Justice system to a qualifying department, and that department purchases a Justice system within one year, the hosting department receives their next years licensing and maintenance free (up to $5,000). 2) If a current user recommends CMI to a qualifying department, provides a contact name and phone number, and that department purchases a Justice system within one year, that department will receive from 25-50% off their next year's annual licensing and maintenance cost. Just for providing the lead. Qualifying departments are departments that CMI has not had prior contact with, ultimately purchases CMI's Justice RMS system, and indicates what department was most instrumental in making their decision. We congratulate the Cottage Grove Police Department who, in just the past year, qualified for two more years of free maintenance. This department has saved several thousand dollars, just by telling others about Justice, and what it's doing for their department. Records Management Interface for Mobile Terminals Custom Micro now has mobile terminals operational in Oregon, and after the first of the year will implement the technology in Minnesota. Mobile terminals are now providing remote database access on a real-time basis. It was a long time coming, but it's finally a reality. We had a lot of interest from law enforcement agencies in several states, and this next year we will have the portable technology available for all our Justice RMS users. One of the first things we are finding is that users of the new mobile terminals liked the mobile interface so much that we were asked to develop a similar version for in department use. Officers get used to working on the stream-lined mobile version in the vehicles and want to use the same thing in the station. Since most officers normally don't need access to everything, we felt it was a good idea, so we have now developed a Justice-Lite version. It provides everything an officer typically needs, and does it in a simplified manner. We are always open to ideas, because that is how the Justice system was developed several years ago, and continues to be the driving force to make it better and better. CMI deeply appreciates all the user input we receive. Anyone interested in further information can send an email to Tom@CustomMicro.com. Multi-Agency Solutions Multiply agencies can now share a common Justice RMS, including the CAD interface when available. Security continues to be one of several strong points in all CMI software systems. Security has been expanded so more than one agency can have access to a common Justice RMS SQL table, and yet maintain complete control over what the other agency can see or do. Multiple users can actually use the same table and never be able to see the other department's data. Sharing a common Justice RMS system, and utilizing Microsoft Terminal Services 2003 technology, can be a very cost effective way for a larger agency to provide data management services to smaller departments in their geographical area, and at the same time share data that would be of interest to all. Slide Shows for Product Demonstration and Training CMI has released several training and product demonstration slide shows that feature all our products. They can be viewed on-line (high speed internet connection recommended) or downloaded and viewed locally, if you have Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 available on your computer. The slide show area also provides information on WHY and HOW to change over to the new SQL based systems. |
